More curious than anything, and hopefully a decent time waster till football starts...

For me, Soccer. I might despise this more than the NBA. These guys flop around more than the hookers in soft core porn...

While the flopping is downright atrocious, you have to respect the athletic ability of soccer players, I couldn't ever dream of doing what they do.

Yeah, I find fouling to be a much bigger and more obnoxious part of basketball. For me it's golf. Find it hard to get into it. I'm not that into tennis either, but I know a lot of friends who follow it closely. I love soccer.

Tennis. I will watch the World Cup as I did last summer and I will watch part of Masters or big tournaments in golf, but I will never, ever watch Wimbledon or any other tennis tournament.

Those guys are in phenomenal shape, no denying, but if you give me the choice of a soccer game or watching two amazon tree frogs humping...

I may go with the frogs...

For me it will be golf. It's fun to play, but boring to watch.

On a side note, for the people who don't like soccer, play FIFA. It is rediculously addicting and now I actually enjoy watching soccer. Not only did that happen to me, but also to a couple of my friends who didn't care for it or hated it before they started playing.

I don't know about athletic ability. Sure they are conditioned well, but so is every marathon runner or competitor in a triathlon.

From the times I've tried to watch a soccer game, all I make out is that the game seems to be designed to make sure nothing happens.

Football is more of a chess match. Two sides trading blows, scheming, sitting back and making coordinates plans of attack.

Soccer is freeform and very pure as far as competitive team sports go. So is rugby I suppose, but soccer is a bit more exciting and dramatic for me. Marathon runners are very athletic for sure, but watching someone run on a preplanned route for 3 hours is not entertainment. With soccer it's hard to get simpler...two teams, one ball, two very wide goals. Constantly running and going at it.

I don't care about most soccer teams so that's why I don't watch. But you gotta love the World Cup. So much energy and excitement. And things are constantly happening in a soccer game. As opposed to football, which I love the strategy aspect of, but there are just sit down breaks CONSTANTLY. You can't miss a moment of a soccer match without getting pretty out of the loop, because anything can happen at any time. You can miss some football time and just check the play-by-play to get the story.

And the highlight reels are sick.

Well come on now...there's a Messi highlight reel, and then there's an everyone else highlight reel :P that guy is inhuman.

I chose Tennis. Everytime a tennis player "grunts" when hitting the ball, it sounds like they're trying to drop a turd on court.

I grew up playing soccer so I enjoy watching it. It's a sport where if you understand and recognize the tactics being used, you'll enjoy watching it. If you don't, you won't enjoy since it seems like all they do is kick the ball around.

But noticeably absent from this poll are: basketball, hockey, NASCAR, NFL, baseball and underwater basket weaving.

figured if I added those, I'd been starting a riot or something

This probably would've received my vote if it were available

Tennis ranks right down around bowling for me. Not something I'd watch on TV. Soccer ranks higher. Up around NASCAR. A definite possibility if nothing else is on. I like to watch golf on TV. About as much as, say, basketball.

I got to disagree with you on the 'anything can happen at any time.' I tried watching the last world cup, and only found it useful as a sleep aid. Sure the ball moves around, but its a game where 0-0 is an acceptable, and at times even a sought after Final score. I can't go with a game in which no points are scored as having had much of anything happen.

Most of the breaks in football are a product of the television machine. Otherwise that 45 seconds goes by in a huge hurry.
