Do you like "he said/she said" reports from camp???

Do you like "he said/she said" reports from camp???
No.
Hell F*ck No
Simmer down Francis

Just have to take such info with a massive grain of salt. For example we are talking 7-on-7's, it's significantly different with lines out there.

Massive grain of salt = salt block

This was emailed to me from a friend who I assume is getting this from another board.

1. Mid-Summer Camp Update- you're welcome :)

Passing along to my friends......

Offense:

In the spring the NU defense shut down the NU offense all the time. Now in the summer, the NU defense can't stop them. Lots more option, similar to Oregon in what we've been running in 7's. A bunch of no huddle with a card system to signal in plays while on the run.

QB:

Martinez: bulked up with an added 12-15 pounds of muscle. Quickness appears to be intact and allegedly is throwing the ball better.

WRs:

Brandon K. looks to make an impact. Bell is making huge strides in 7’s.

Quincy E. is a physical freak but still can't seem to put it together on the field.

Abdullah may see slot time backing up Turner. Turner goes into fall camp as #1 at slot.

RB:

“very, very impressed” with all of the freshman running backs. Fall camp will decide which one redshirts.

Heard came in looking the most physically ready of all the freshmen.

Abdullah “bigger than they expected”

Rex is a great leader and has put in the effort to help the young guys.

FB:

will be Legate’s spot to lose

OL:

Concern on staff that Moore may get too cocky being a possible starter at RG (edit by TD: could be tackle) from Day 1.

ST:

Freshman kicker is making a run at FG’s. Maher will be the punter barring the unexpected.

_______

Recruiting tidbit:

Staff has been calling around looking for JUCO targets, especially QB’s.

Tell your friend, we know who he is and we are cancelling his membership for sharing such info!!!! Just kidding, but "a freind" also sent me a very similar email.... actually it was the exact same email word for word.
Both of your "friends" ought to learn how to keep things to themselves.

I still think just like I did last week. The D-line is softer than it should be.
Just curious, does anyone else think this?
We gave up way too many rushing yards last year, to pretty much everyone. Nobody knows if we've fixed that heading into this season, because nobody has watched the D Line in game-like situations yet.
Bo's defensive philosophy is designed to intentionally give up yard on the ground. The key to stopping the run for him has always revolved around how he plays his safeties. Last year, the last half of the year, after Cassidy and Osborne were inserted into the lineup, our run fits were markedly better and they were making the right stops.

Bo is going to stop the pass and make teams establish a rhythm on the ground, and ultimately beat him there. Most teams cannot do that, nor do they have the patience to try it.

^ what book did you read that in Endo? :P
What part exactly? There a few places online where you can see a thorough explanation of Bo's approach to stopping the run and the pass. They show video clips, and they show the chalkboard breakdown. In addition, talk to players who learn it from him. You can learn a ton of stuff about the pattern match coverage scheme that Bo has perfected, and had a ton of teams trying to copy. Where many of those teams fail is that they don't have Bo Pelini calling the shots. His adjustment and transition adjustments in changing up where he funnels receivers are maybe only matched by one Nick Saban, but admittedly, Saban plays his safeties a hell of a lot different than Bo does.

Endo is right. It's been said in articles a thousand times over that the Pelini strategy in the Big 12 was taking away the short passes all of those spread offenses liked, and taking away "explosive gains," or big plays. In doing this they were more vulnerable against the run, but teams had to sustain 12-play drives, mostly on the ground, if they wanted to score a touchdown. It was a defensive strategy that was successful. We'll likely see them play somewhat differently next year, with teams like Wisconsin and Iowa being more committed to the run. Generally though, the Pelinis simply like to take away whatever their opponent is best at.

^ didn't say he was wrong. (just a reference to his trolling in other areas) hence the smiley
