Bo Pelini: Huskers on 'cusp' of title

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is going into his new conference conceding nothing.
He knows the last thing Big Ten opponents want is for the Cornhuskers to come in and win the championship in their first year in the conference. Pelini said at a booster luncheon Wednesday that the Big Ten will have a big challenge trying to stop the Huskers from doing just that.

"I guarantee you a lot of people in the Big Ten, everyone we're playing, is saying, 'We're going to show Nebraska,'" Pelini said. "Well, they've got to line up and play us and let the chips fall where they may. We're going to be ready each and every Saturday."

Bo will have our guys ready for fall ball in the new league. He may be foaming at the mouth to start.

Yeah, they'll be gunning for us the first year, just like the Big 12 was in our last year there. Hopefully the refs won't be in on it.

 
Never understand why the 1st poster always has to quote the OP.

I am hoping this isn't all talk from everyone. I know we are new to this conference, but losing by 3 or less in the CCG is getting alittle old.

 
I'm still anticipating one or two games where we just don't show up mentally. I hope I'm wrong, but we always seem to have a couple of those games every year.

I personally think Bo's tenure here will be very intimately linked with whether or not he can shore up this area of the program.

 
Agree Landlord! I'll be watching for penalties and stupid mistakes. If they keep happening then it bleeds to the top, especially with various coaching changes. I expect better results and execution moving forward and Bo knows Husker Nation has that view.

 
I know that is when I am cussing the most. Offsides here, holding there. It seems like it never ends and always at the key plays where we definately needed those yards we just gained.

 
Perhaps this year we will have a complete team so when one side of the ball has a let down the other side can compensate.
