Miami booster Nevin Shapiro alleges he provided an extra benefit to Benard Thomas the summer before the player's senior season at Nebraska. The benefit he claimed to have provided:

• In the summer of 2003, Shapiro provided Thomas and two Hurricanes players – Kellen Winslow Jr. and D.J. Williams – with a leisure trip on his yacht that included food, drinks and jet skis.

If true, what can the NCAA do? I'm curious because I heard on SportsCenter today that the NCAA has a 4 year window to do something about it. That means they could only do something up to 2007........correct?

If that is true, then I guess this is a non-issue. Still interesting, though.

Sports Nightly said something about Thomas claiming it happened in 2005 when he wasn't even in school anymore. Don't quote me on that, I just caught the tail end of it.
