Interesting tidbit out of the man, the myth, the fury, Bo Pelini. He ssid that Tyler Moore would be one of your starting five up front.

Its only a shock to those who haven't been paying attention. If Jones gets healthy enough he'll start and Moore will back him up. Right now that's a toss up. Moore is also listed at #2 at several other line spots. He's just that damn good.

This is promising seeing the young guys stepping into starting roles, however I would prefer they all progressed better than they appear to from year to year. I'm hesitant to wish Cotton away now that there's someone else helping him coach, but it's still slightly unnerving that a true freshman is that much better than a guy who has been here awhile on the line.

This kid would start at multiple line positions at 99% of BCS DI schools. The difference between here and there is that he'd probably be further ahead because Cotton wouldn't be coaching him. Moore's only issue is he hasn't done it and the only way to get that experience is to actually do it. He's a very confident cocky kid so he'll not be intimidated by the defense. Sure he has a few times he gets outmaneuvered a bit but its because he hasn't had to go against that particular technique and once Garrison tells him how to over come it he shuts it down.

Even if Jones was 100% healthy Moore would be challenging for the #1 spot and seeing plenty of reps at #2 at lots of spots on the line.

Did he say it like that? He said Tyler is going to play a lot of football this year, but I don't remember him saying that, exactly. He said the depth chart is constantly changing at this point. He also said he forgets Tyler is a true freshman because he was here for the spring and is ahead of the curve.

Yes. He said he's #1 right now. Its been reported in several papers that way. Not that we hadn't read it here on the boards for several weeks.

It was very beneficial for Moore to get a spring under his belt that helped his cause. Having the others nicked up also helped his cause. Being a very talented player obviously helps his cause.

Yes you can say that having a young guy start suggests that there are line issues, but it might also be suggested that as guys heal up and the season progresses that they will end up with good depth at tackle. We shall have to see but sometimes that's what happens in these cases.

Milt had some interesting comments regarding the linemen on husker illustrated radio. He seemed very impressed with A-Rod, Cotton, and Moore physically and mentally. He said the line has a chance to be exceptional this year. Basically said the line will be better than last year just based on the fact that they won't have to backpedal in pass pro as much. They can just fire off the line at people. Said Yoshi is very physical. Caputo may be a little undersized, but not in heart. Said the biggest concern obviously was finding a back up center. Likes the depth at tackle. I didn't catch the whole interview unfortunately, but that's the gist of what I heard.
