College Football TV Roundtable

8. Do you trust Craig James when it comes to reporting on the Big 12?

Mandel: I wouldn't trust Craig James to report on sixth-grade volleyball.

Just read this and it warms my heart to see the james craig bashing within professional journalism :)

1. Which college football announcers and announcing teams are must-watches for you and why?Stewart Mandel: Now that Gus Johnson is joining the college football realm (for Fox), he will be my first real "must tune in." (i.e.: I might turn on a game I otherwise wouldn't.)
I was going to post a new topic on Gus Johnson but since this is already here... I have observed some the hostility towards fox sports, and of course the conference that shall not be named. But I must admit I am a bit jealous that he will now be announcing their games for fox along with the pac 12. Of course, I will still watch but, could you imagine him calling the oklahoma state or ISU game last year, that would have been awesome.

I don't know that I've ever read such a brutally honest report by one group of journalists about another. There is not a single thing they've said that is wrong about Craig James/ESPN, though. I loved the universal bafflement over how/why James is still employed by ESPN. It's not like they had a lot of journalistic integrity before, but as long as they retain James they pretty much have zero.

What would horrify my is if ESPN suddenly pulled their heads out of their posterior and fired James, and somehow the BTN hired him. I think that has less than about a million-to-one chance of happening, but it's still a terrifying thought.

You have disturbingly sick imagination sir.

Craig James is going to be one broke person when Mike Leach's lawyers get through with him. Its unreal what the WWL and James did to that guy's career, regardless of whether he's a penis or not. (He is)
