NFL Commish out of line?

Whether you agree or not or you even like pro football, there is something that isn't right with commish handing out suspensions that Pryor or Tressel weren't even apart of the NFL. That's like your new job punishing you because of your old job because you didn't receive enough punishment. I don't even know how he is getting away with this and luckily Pryor is fighting back. I just don't understand how he can punish people who weren't even employees of the NFL at the time of the infraction?

 
I dont have a problem with it. To me, Pryor is trying to circumvent his wrong doings at OSU by going to the NFL. I think Goodell is making an example of him and sending a message that you can't run away from your mistakes. Pryor needs to grow up, learn from his mistake, swallow his pride and accept his suspension.

Agreed on the Pryor aspect. As far as Tressel is concerned, I don't agree with that suspension. He already lost his job, it's not like he left willingly to avoid penalty.

 
I haven't heard anything about this, but what I am taking of it, I don't agree at all. If anything, they shouldn't have been allowed to be hired, but once they were, all bets off. You allowed them in, if they didn't do anything, then nothing should happen.

Then Pryor shouldn't have been eligible for the draft in the first place. It's not the NFL's commish job to play daddy.

 
I have a BIG problem with the commissioner of the NFL enforcing suspensions for the NCAA. That sets a terrible precedent.

Everything Goodell does is for publicity. Every. Single. Thing. This *ONLY* happened because it was such a high profile case.

 
I can't say I have much of an issue with it. You have players and coaches who just jet to the NFL and start making bank in place of suffering any real consequences from the NCAA, while the school they were at gets to deal with years of sanctions.

 
Roger Goodell didn't suspend Pryor because of any NCAA rules that he broke. Goodell suspended him because Pryor intentionally side-stepped the draft rules in order to make it into the NFL.

 
Conspiracy theory; NFL wants to keep Univerisities happy as colleges provide the minor leagues at no cost to the pros.

Not mine, you probably heard it a long time ago.
