Secondary?

Is it just me or are they not pressing at the line any more? I think that is where we are sucking it up it seems they give the WR 10yards of freedom I miss the physical pass D :(

 
Its obvious that they're lacking coaching, but with Dennard back Green will only be in on certain formations. Honestly, nothing to be too concerned about until Dennard comes back in. Fresno State ran some very sneaky plays that wound up gaining big yards

 
I'll have to rewatch, but I thought Green played quite a bit better than Evans. It's undeniable that losing Prince, Hagg, Gomes, and Sanders hurts us big time. Dennard's return should help in a big way.

Yes, exactly.

Our DL had its bright spots, but they got worked today. It was the biggest factor in why Fresno's offense did so well. Very disappointing.

An awful lot of the sacks we got in 2009 and 2010 would also be considered coverage sacks.

We need the whole defense to play a lot better than today, front to back.

 
i dont think its fair to say our dline got worked today at all, fresno was basically doing all sprintout plays or three step drops. I just can't figure out why they didnt just have our corners camp the out route the whole game it was all they were doing.

 
Or the QB and receivers are pretty darn good. Fresno did a nice job of rolling the pocket and the QB put the ball where it needed to be most of the game.

 
From call in shows yesterday it seems a lot of blaming is being directed to the corners. I felt like Cassidy provide little to no support over the top. He seemed to be trailing often on a lot of plays. I noticed the same thing last game but I don't really hear anyone talking about it.

 
Did you see the side arm throws their QB was fitting through small windows on the out routes? F-ing ridiculous throws, dude has skills.

Hard to get a solid pass rush when they roll the pocket so well. I think ability to jam the recievers would've given time for the linebackers to blitz those rollouts.

 
Give this unit some time to get experience under there belts. We are replacing a ton of talent in the secondary, 2 games in we shouldnt be expecting world beaters out there. By conference play our defense will be the least of our concerns.

All in all the whole defense played like crap not just the secondary.

Fresno did a great job of rolling the pocket to give little Carr some time.
