Chris Polk Parting Shot?

On rivals it says something about Chris Polk delivering a nice parting shot after the game. Does anyone know what that's about?

Basically just venting after a loss.

I can respect feeling personally like you deserved to win the game, but you take it to a whole nother level when you go to the media about it. That's something that a college athlete like Polk probably does not realize, so I'll give him a pass. But going to the media is just whining.

What did he say?

Added Polk: "I felt like the game wasn't decided on the other team's play. It was decided on a few bad calls and some miscues. It is a game of inches. We just didn't get those inches today. I would love nothing more than to play them again."

Yeah, thanks for the assist Carter. I didn't have the link handy to the article at the time so I could only roughly summarize. It sounds even less bad after reading it. It was a parting shot and it wasn't very sporting, and it should not have been said, but at the same time you can kinda understand it and respect that it's a mistake coming from a very competitive and frustrated young adult.

"game of inches". Whatever. Nebraska piled up a lot of inches when it pounded the ball for 300+ yards right through your defense. If you want a few of those inches back, take them. But stop crying.

That game wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicated. Warshington got walloped. Can't pin that on a few bad calls. If it was a closer game, the sentiment would make more sense. Polk was just being emotional, and I can hardly blame him.

I understand his comments. That's why we should have shut the door at 42-17. Instead, our next offensive series we went into a "prevent offense" ... and followed that up with a defensive display that certainly gave Washington and the entire media a chance to call this a "shootout" that was decided by a few bad calls. I won't fault him or them for that ... Lord knows we would have a few of those "immature" posters ranting over here for probably 2-3 freaking weeks.

On the bright side the team was finally on the business end of some horrible calls by a geriatric officiating crew....I just think the game is way to fast for so many of these guys, these are the same people that do 35 mph in the left lane on the highway....scary.
