didnt join the B1G until next year? Would the Big 12 have been considered better than the SEC? What would Nebraska's record have been?

sorry if this isn't a good topic.... this is the first time I have started one.... I was just browsing and these thoughts popped into my head so i was wondering what you guys thought

it will be interesting to see how well the big 12 finishes, they probably drop, but most likely will still at least look better than B1G.

If we hadn't joined the B1G when we did, I think it would have been far more difficult. The AAU thing is a load of horse hockey, but it's that kind of weird academic "prestige" thing that looks very bad on a resume. If we had waited, I think we still would have gotten in (we're the same academic institution today as we were pre-AAU ouster), but it would have taken much more back-room discussions.

KSU: W

ISU: W

KU: W big

CU: W big

MU: W

A&M: I'd say W bc it would be at home, but we don't play well at home at points, so its tough

UT: L we always lose to Texas no matter how well we play

OSU: L Their offense would light our defense up!

6-2 play OU in CCG: L, I think OU his better than us this year

Holiday Bowl vs. Washington for 4th time: W 100-0

I was thinking this too.

are we 'better off' hitting tOSU when they're down?

is Wiscy just too good this year?

would aTm roll us?

could we stop okie lite?

is MSU legit, or are we gonna do em?

can the Blackshirts contain Robinson?

lots of questions. we'll never know, except how it shook out the last 2 yrs...well, we were def 1 or 2 plays away from holding B12 Conf trophies over our head, and now that's last week's prom queen...i think we have great challenges ahead that looking back at B12 makes me just say, "the grass IS greener on this side of the fence, buttholes."

If your MSU is Michigan State then the answer is no, they got beat by Notre Dame =/

I am a Big B1G fan and even with Neb, the B1G is WAY down this year. OSU is spiriling down, Penn State is lost at sea with no captain, Mich St is average at best, Iowa has been less than impressive, Mich is on the road back but still a year or two away and what I thought was a decent NW team just lost to Army. Illinois finished strong last year and they are not a bad team and I would put them #3 in the league now but you put Illinois against the #3 in SEC or B12 and it is a slaughter. I am holding judgment on Wisc until they play someone decent. Nebraska has looked the best so far because they came away with W's against a couple decent teams in Fresno and Wash.

The B12 is very solid this year and if Neb is the B12 and not the B10, B12 is a just a step below SEC and the B10 is 4,5th best conf (SEC, B12, ACC, PAC or B10)

good assessment, i agree. I never understood everyone saying the B1G is so tough, especially this year.

But how good does it feel knowing this is all behind us. I was traveling (working) when it was announced for Nebraska. I just remember that day, thinking....I need a bottle of jack daniels and a straw. Btw, Osborne always sad he didn't want the power to shift to texas....and it did. He saw it and we made a move. He looks like a prophet now.....and another thing.....did you all see how bill byrne said.....the longhorn network had something to do with this mess....nooooo....really???? Mizzou has been awful quiet on the front...wonder why...

Short answer to the end question/statement...they learned to keep their mouths shut.

If we had waited until this year for conference realignment, I'd venture to guess we'd be heading west along with OU and Okie State. I'd have preferred the move west rather than where we ended up, but I'm speaking strictly for football.
