Practice report: Alfonzo Dennard is ready to roll; Crick's status uncertain

Everybody's been asking about Alfonzo Dennard for a couple weeks now. After Thursday's practice, Bo Pelini gave Husker fans the answer they've been anxious to hear.

"He's playing," Pelini said. "Alfonzo's ready to go."

Pelini said it was "more than likely" the senior cornerback would start Saturday against Wyoming. The status on defensive tackle Jared Crick wasn't nearly as clear.

Crick has been out of practice all week and Pelini said Thurday the senior is "questionable" for this game.

The injury is seemingly the result of a big hit Crick took around his helmet on a cutback block on Washington's last offensive play of the game this past Saturday.

A concussion?

"I don't know the terms and all those things," Pelini said. "He got dinged."

That's too bad about Crick, but we are WAAAAAY more deep at DT than we are at CB. It'll be good to see Fonzie get going.

maybe the quickest way to find out how well Crick was playing is to be without him for a game.

Didn't da skers say 'knee' or something about Crick?
No. It was comment on why he seemed slower and less explosive. He's still not 100% from the off season crap they did. Still some discomfort and swelling there. I don't believe this is related to why he's not playing this weekend.

Bo Pelini's injury report is on par with an injury report of an NHL player during the Stanley Cup playoffs,

*Player's leg chopped off in practice*

Reporter - "Bo, what's the status of Player X right now?"

Bo - "Well..I don't know the terminology for it..he's just dinged up right now."

Reporter - "Do you think it has something to do with his leg being cut off?"

Bo - "Like I said..I don't know what to call it. He's day to day."
