New Scheme for Conference Games

i think the problem with Martin is that he just hasn't grasped defensive concepts.

He was going to play at LB, couldn't do it.

He's now at DE and apparently can't break the depth chart.
David is fine at DE. He'll be in when they need someone to really disrupt the Qb. At some point I would guess we'd have a corner blitz from the opposite side and give him the go as well to crush a qb on third or fourth and long. Biggest issue with any DB not named Cam is that they excel in maybe one area and are ok or weak in others.

I think the new wrinkle we pull out against WI next week is the 5-2 set. With Martin being our 3rd DE and an unbalanced DL. I also think we will seen the emergence of a DE/LB player which I think will also be martin due to his previous playing of both positions. It plays out much like our peso did last year, where our base is a 5-2 and martin can either rush the passer/ball carrier or slide into a middle zone while 2 more "agile" Lb's play in flats/Zone/Man. Thoughts?
I'm confused. A line has 2 ends - are you talking about the defensive triangle?

He's just wanting to sub in an extra speed guy to put pressure on the line.

What we practiced is Meredith----Crick------Randle------Steinkuhler------Martin

and we moved Crick or Steinkuhler to the outside at times for a mismatch.

Technically a line has no ends or it would be a line segment, but a Defensive Line is actually a quadrilateral and is allowed up to 4 ends.

Do you see practice or something? You always seem to have inside information, just wondering where you get it??

It's downright sad. The kids got a motor that just won't quit but.......

_____OLB- MLB- Peso

DE- DE- DT - DT- DE

____TE-OT-OG-C-OG-OT

That is the diagram of what I am talking about, I know it hard for people to realize you can have more than 2 DE or more than 2 OLB in one set but you can. Lets see if the Diagram makes it intact.

Spacing sucks on it but you get the general idea, and the OLB and Peso are interchangeable, so either 4 DB's and an OLB or 4 db's and a Peso back. NOT: 3 DB's , OLB AND PESO back.
