why was the O able to move the ball?

What happened that allowed the offense to look all world late in the 2nd half? I don't get it. They couldn't do anything and all of a sudden they come to life.

The offensive line has really done it all year. They just keep pounding at guys and it wears them down.

  1. The biggest thing in my opinion was that the play calling improved. We started giving Taylor some room to run the ball and finally let him use his legs. Zone read for TD. Option to the LONG side of the field for a key first down. Diamond formation. Play action passes that were actually surprising.
  2. Defensive stands gave the offense a chance. The O-Line started wearing down OSU and they looked dog tired in the fourth quarter. We beat them up bad in the end.
  3. Discipline. That one false start aside, we didn't beat ourselves at all following David's strip of their quarterback.

The playcalling was infinitely better in the second half. Plus the defense was getting off the field decently.

From an tOSU fan I will tell you exactly what happened. This has been an issue with us for the past 10 years.. proof can be seen in many of our games such as the bowl game against Oregon and the razorbacks.

For one reason or another (this game the reason was B. Miller going down, but in past years its because we get super conservative when we are in the lead in the second half)

The offense can't move the ball... mutliple 3 and outs and putting the defense in bad positions wears our defense out. Its really as simple as that. The fact that you guys changed up your game plan also contributed.. as we have never been a good adjustment team.

1) Momentum & emotion is huge in college football!!!!

2a) They made some some adjustments

2b) Play calling. They really need to use that diamond formation more.

3) Physical play accumulated affect.

I just re-watched the game. The crowd became electric. It so badly NEEDS to be like this all the time. We play so much better when the stadium is LOUD!

The offense came alive late in the game because someone showed them your post at 8:04PM last night saying the game was over and their coach was going to be on the hot seat.

Or maybe it could have just been like NU teams from the past where after awhile the big boys up front just wear the DL out and start pushing people around.

Offensive line showed up in the 4th.

You should add Joe Bauserman to your signature
