Pretty sure the only thing he's sad about is $2.7 million instead of possibly much more had things not gone the way they did.

eh, how's he supposed to answer? I think he did as well as he could, saying he's sorry, and thinking about his former teammates and rooting for them, but also has to concentrate on what's ahead for him. Seriously, what is a better answer?

Take some ownership for it and admit that you let them down, and either didn't want to go back or couldn't face going back.
