Two plays that have me scratching my head

No, something's changed. Noticed this year in several college games and maybe the pros. Running back or receiver runs out of bounds and you're thinking, okay that stops the clock, because it has for the last 80 years. But you look up and the clock is still running and the announcers don't say anything about it.

Someone less lazy than me really should look this up.

Running back or receiver runs out of bounds and you're thinking, okay that stops the clock, because it has for the last 80 years. Well I know that a couple of years ago, maybe before the 2009 or 2010 season, they implemented a new rule to make games move a little quicker in college. If a player ran out of bounds and did not get a first down or touchdown, the clock would keep rolling. Previously, any time a player ran out the clock would stop until the ball was hiked again.

The only time the clock will stop when a player runs out of bounds is if it's under two minutes in the second or fourth quarters. And since this run happened with under two minutes in the fourth, and he was still gaining yards when he went out of bounds, I don't understand why the clock kept rolling.
