Feeling about Nw loss 2 weeks Later

Doesn't Penn State still have to play Wisconsin? I'd venture to guess when Wiscy thrashes Penn State, they'll fall out of the top 25 as well.

What makes me puke even more is the thought of seeing MSU in the first ever B1GC - a team that we thoroughly dominated and embarrassed. :steam

If that's not motivation for all those guys who took the week off, then they should be ashamed to wear that red "N".

Reckon you'd be projectile vomiting if you were Wisconsin and saw Nebraska ranked ahead of you.

You might even have uncontrollable diarrhea if you were Northwestern, and Nebraska fans kept insisting the only reason you won is because their players took the week off.

The defense has pretty much taken the season off.

Or do you think Northwestern isn't better than Fresno State?

Who gives a crap about NW or WI? I only care about NU and based on tradition alone those 2 teams you mention should be quite satisfied with the toilet.com bowl. Not NU.

:confucius Who talked about Fresno?

.... Looks like we will all be cheerleaders and be forced into supporting the purple kitties on the last game of their season.. LOL because we all know that Indiana has no chance in hell of beating Sparty.
GO PURPLE HAZE!

(There was a serious proposal in the 80s to change Wildcats to Purple Haze)

Sparty has had some strange results over the years. They could lose to Indiana. Not very likely though. Who thought Purdue would beat Ohio State? That's just life in the Big Ten.

You have a lot of misplaced anger, chief.

In 1977, Dr. Tom started things off with a bang by losing to unranked Washington State...in Lincoln.

^^ This.

But you forgot to add the anomaly that a week later, Nebraska beat #4 ranked Alabama led by legendary coach Bear Bryant. Had Bama beaten Nebraska, they would've been unanimous choice to win the national title instead of Notre Dame. Read the controversy below:

The national championship was disputed as there were 4 one loss teams - Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Texas. Notre Dame, on the strength of its lopsided win over #1 Texas, vaulted over Texas, Oklahoma (who lost in the Orange Bowl), Alabama (who won in the Sugar Bowl), and Michigan (who lost in the Rose Bowl). Alabama fans cried foul as they assumed, as the #3 team before the bowls, that if #1Texas and #2 Oklahoma lost (which they did), they would ride to #1 with a win over Ohio State. Some believe Alabama was granted a share of the national title in 1978 despite its loss to the team it shared it with (USC) to make up for 1977. There were several good choices for a champion—giant killers Notre Dame and Arkansas, and third-ranked Alabama—and the electors for AP and UPI were divided, but a majority for each service picked Notre Dame.

In a way, Nebraska losing to Northwestern and beating Penn State mirrors those first 2 weeks of the '77 season. Losing to an unranked team we should've beaten at home only to follow up beating a highly ranked team the week after.

This is why I love college football. No team is guaranteed a victory. Consistently playing at a high level every week is the ultimate test.
