It is official, Rick is out as Bruins coach. Just could not get er' done out here in So Cal, and with USC looking poised to come off probation in a strong way, just wondering...

What direction should the Bruins go in? I know for one thing, UCLA seems to cheap to hire a big named head coach, but they need to do something in a hurry...

 
Who knows who they'll hire, but they are and always be a basketball school first. They do deserve better though.

 
I guess winning the inaugural Pac-12 south crown doesn’t count for much. Oh well, skippy will land on his feet. He always does.

 
I don't know....fire the coach right before the biggest game you've had in years...so you can motivate the team to win one for skippy?

I wouldn't call what they did 'winning it' they are only in as USC(who just monkey stomped them 50-0) is ineligible, and the rest of the division is a train wreck. 6-6(soon to be 6-7) doesn't cut it in year 4 at a sleeping giant like UCLA.

 
I saw someone post on one of the Yahoo message boards that UCLA should consult with Terry Donahue and d!(k Vermeil and conduct a national search for a coach. I don't get it, Westwood is in a great area, great weather, a giant talent pool in So Cal, they should have a better program and should have no problem attracting a good coach...but they have to pay for one too...that prolly won't happen...by the way, the basketball team sucks now too :hmmph

 
Just for grins....let's say UCLA somehow gets all the breaks and wins this game....Barring scandalous acts, Rick would be the first coach to be fired after winning a championship.

The only way UCLA wins that game is if the first two strings of Oregon players forget the way to the stadium
