We need to make things a little bit for lively around here. So how about discussing where potential prospects from Nebraska end up in the draft this year.
C Mike Caputo
DT Jared Crick
LB Lavonte David
CB Alfonzo Dennard
pretty much locks for the combine
potential players who might get an invite
WR Brandon Kinnie 50%
OT Yoshi Hardrick 60%
DT Terrance Moore 70%
S Austin Cassidy 40%
FB Tyler Legate 50%
Caputo will probably be taken in the late 4th or 5th round, he is a vastly undersized Center, that is really gonna hurt his chances. But someone will pick him that is in desperate need of fixing their OL
If Crick performs well at the combine, i could see him going before Lavonte David early in the 2nd round. If not, more than likely a steal late in the 2nd or early 3rd.
Alfonzo should be a late first round pick, but after the Capital One game, better make that a solid 3rd round pick. He could gain a lot of ground back with a very strong showing at the combine to get into the 2nd round.
Lavonte David, this is kind of a toss up between late 1st or early 2nd. Its kind of a toss up at spot he will play, OLB or DB or S? Either way, he will be an outstanding player on whatever team takes and will contribute immediately.
Terrance Moore can make a strong impression if he gets an invite to the combine, which i think he does. My prediction is that he gets taken in the 6th or 7th round, if he goes to the combine and scores well.
Kinnie, not very fast, more of a possession type of guy, unfortunately his stats this year dont show that. Highly doubt he will make it to the combine, someone might pick him up as an undrafted free agent.
Hardrick, definitely big enough for the NFL, but his techniques need a lot of polishing. If someone does take him as an undrafted free agent, it will be a lot of work for him and the coaches before he is ready to play on Sundays.
Cassidy, sort of quick, not very shifty, often gets beat on the slants. has good eyes, sure hands for the interception, but is often caught out of coverages. He is good on zone coverage, bad on man coverages. Won't go drafted, might not be signed either. His likelihood of being drafted are as good as Matt O'Hanlon's were.
Tyler Legate, undersized, light fullback. great blocker and sure hands when catching the ball. Won't be drafted, more than likely picked up as an undrafted free agent, he will play as a RB to either block or take a screen pass.
