Thanks for the breakdown, Ladyhawke!! It helps for those of us who can't watch NETI was watching Big Red Wrap Up tonight and Tyler Legate/Austin Cassidy were on. This is what they said as far as what they see the team needing next year:
Offense: Turnovers/Penalties. Legate said that he thought that the mistakes were on the players. He said that the players knew what to do because the coaches went over those things over and over again during practice. They just failed to execute. He also said that another thing that would help the offense next year would be to continue to come together as a unit under Coach Beck.
Defense: Generate Turnovers Cassidy said that he thought it was improvements with regards to the little things that would be the key to in taking the Huskers from a 'pretty dang good program' to an elite program.
They both said that it's going to take a group effort to replace dennard/david. It will be important for those backup/new guys to learn from what D & D did this year.
Secondary: They 'gotta know the play book'.
TMart: They said that he became more of a leader off the field. His Freshman year he didn't say much, but this year he would come in and encourage the guys. He stepped up and became a more vocal leader.
They also shared that it bothers them when they read negative things about the team when they know what's really going on.
