Offensive Tweets lead to expulsion of starJanuary 20, 2012 rivals.com

Yuri Wright, one of the best high school cornerbacks in the country, has spent most of his senior year trying to decide what college to attend. This weekend - because of his own Twitter account - he has to look for a new high school first.

Wright was expelled from Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep on Thursday after a series of offensive tweets that were sexually graphic and racially insensitive were discovered on his Twitter account.

The guy--the number 85 ranked recruit in the nation--got kicked out of high school because of his twitter account?? I didn't read the tweets. But wow, that is f'd up. Seems pretty drastic for naughty tweets. He had offers from Michigan, Neutre Dame, Georgia and others.

edit: I don't think the fact that he's a highly ranked recruit makes any difference. I'm just surprised a kid can get KICKED OUT of school over his twitter account. Any kid.

Unless he was advocating the overthrow of the US Govt and Constitution by violent means j/k Reality today is that what you put out there can come back and bite your a$$ off. That's why I'm not posting on the net anymor...................

I read this earlier, but it didn't get into what he said or did.

Kid did something stupid. If I needed some talent, I would take a chance on him. I would give him a real real real short leash.

^^ That's my thought. Some coach/team is going to do well signing this guy. Unless the twitter thing is just the tip of the iceberg, and this kid has bigger problems.

Looked into this a little bit further. The tweets weren't *that* bad. Basically, “I Need Some P*ssy” Tweets. LINK

This is the kind of stuff that's said in every single lockerroom every day in America. This is another of those stories that seems like there must be more than meets the eye.

That's a little harsh for those kinds of tweets. Unless he had a history or was warned about this he shouldn't have been suspended. Aren't schools supposed to educated students for the future, not close the doors on them?

Kind of reminds me of my senior year when myspace was just blown up. We had a couple senior basketball guys get suspended for having pictures with alcohol in them on their accounts. The student body actually got behind them and had some chance and walked out of a game in protest. Thought it was funny at the time, but looking back it all just seems like silly teenage shenanigans.

I'm sure the offer from Colorado is still on the table. Nod, nod, wink, wink

If this was a public school he'd still be in school, but its not, its a Catholic school and those things don't fly.

What? He just tweeted that he wanted some pu&&y. He didn't say he was going use a condom or some other venial mortal sin like that.

edit: Because we all know condoms are a mortal sin.

Sorry you don't agree with the religion, but they don't stand for that stuff. I went to Catholic school for 9 years and if I said stuff like he did, they would have expelled me also. Its not just condoms, its pre-marital sex also. And the cursing and calling people n****.

At least you could read his tweets instead of street language that you see most teenagers writing.......the school should have taken that into consideration.

Well, we know they don't stand for this sort of thing after the season is over. I wonder what would happen if a star player did this during the season?
