What is the shelf life of Jeremy Lin's stardom?

International Man of Mystery
This guy has a great story. But when will it end? Tomorrow? Next week? When he retires? Linsanity has taken over the NBA.

Is it real or a flash in the pan? That's the question.

If Melo comes back and they begin to lose, they will trade Melo.

Seven wins in a row is pretty good for a below .500 team before Lin became a starter. Its not just Lin, the Knicks have more confidence and Lin has given the team a spark. Something they did not have when Melo and Amare were the team.

Just look at tonight for example, Lin went 4 for 6 with 10 points, but he had 13 assists and they beat the Kings by double digits. He has given the Knicks a spark and I think they will make the playoffs this year now.

You mean 'melo'

Not a flash in the pan. As long as Dantoni remains coach, he'll be ok. If he can score 10-12 a game with about 8-10 dimes a game, cut down on his turnovers, and use his left better, he'll be a pretty solid #1

Long-term star. The Linsanity thing will die down once we get used to him, but he's a legitimate player. My vote would be somewhere between option 1 and option 2..

He won't stay hot forever. Might keep his role as a starter for a while. Prolly stay on a roster for a few years.

I hope I'm wrong. I like the guy. He is a great story.

I think he's here to stay. He's a smart guy, and he has shown that he can do it all. He's quick, pretty good ball handler, a good scorer when he needs to be, a really good passer, and a clutch performer. I hope he's got a long career ahead of him, because he's fun to watch.

I look back on this thread and think to myself...how the hell did I not pick the Shawn Watson option? I always pick the Shawn Watson option...oh well.

Lets just say this...

I haven't given a sh*t about the NBA in over 15 years, and this kid actually has me somewhat interested again...

First time watching him live this season. What I've noticed is his effort on defensive side of the ball. Usually NBA players take it easy on the defensive end during the regular season.
