Fighting Erstads v. dem Fightin' Bulldogs

Not a huge fan of today's batting lineup. I think Coach Erstad probably based it off of the first 3 games and trying to develop some of the players. Huskers are battling though.

i was in and out watching the game on my pc and it looked like and sounded like we had out chances late but couldnt cash in. left several guys on base

4 innings in a row we left 2 on..........

Lack of timely hits today is the storyline on this game....

it would have been nice to get a sweep. i dont think this LaTech team is very good. But overall im happy with the teams performance this weekend.

Sitting on the 3rd base line with that wind in our face all day pretty much sucked.

Lots of opportunities to win today. Missed too many. Bolt cost us some runs. Forget which inning it was, but he sent the runner from second on a double to the right field gap, only to get the runner cut down at the plate. Clearly shouldn't have sent the runner, but he did.

Fast-forward to the 8th and a nearly identical play, but Bolt held the runners even though the ball made it to the wall. Would have scored one easily, possibly both.

Not griping at Bolt. He's learning.

I have some pictures I'll post in a little bit.

I'm already booked for an appearance next Saturday and another on April 8th!

The pre-game huddle and the Umps & Catcher just after the National Anthem.

Nebraska is 14-7 heading into a 2-game series against Northern Colorado on Tuesday. Strangely enough, Nebraska was 14-7 last year heading into. . . yep, a 2-game series against Northern Colorado. We did win both games against them last year. I just hope this team can continue to improve as the year progresses. Still a lot of ball left to be played. We regressed last year as the season wore on. Hopefully that won't be the case this season.

What were the situations in these cases? Maybe Im just reading your sentence wrong but it sounds like runner on 2nd and the batter hit a double? And the guy on second got thrown at at home?

On one play, the runner at second (I forget who it was for sure) held up to see if the ball was going to be caught, he got thrown out at the plate. The guys on the radio said he probably should not have hesitated, the likelihood of it being caught was not high.
