'Monolith' Object on Mars? You Could Call It ThatBy Natalie Wolchover | LiveScience.com – Wed, Apr 11, 2012 www.yahoo.com

Amateur stargazers have discovered an intriguing object jutting out from the surface of Mars. The seemingly perfectly rectangular, upright structure, found in NASA images of the Red Planet, bears a striking resemblance to the monoliths planted on Earth and the moon by aliens in the classic sci-fi film "2001: A Space Odyssey."

I think I need to re-read some of my Arthur C. Clarke books.

Dave Bowman: "HAL, I won't argue with you anymore! Open the doors!"

HAL: "Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye."

I'll jump at any chance to use that meme.
everytime I see him on history channel I wanna shave his head. With someone as smart as he seems to be, you'd think he'd figure out a comb by now.
lol "smart".

I don't think he has any say in the matter, I think his hair takes it upon itself to grow out all crazy like that just to warn us that he's crazy.

Without doing any research my first wild guess would be that it's one of our rovers, since I have no idea of the size.

NASA should have a good enough handle on their rovers to know it's not one of theirs. You'd hope so, anyway. :D

Pfft. They haven't even spotted any of the aliens that visit us on a regular basis. They're obviously incompetent.

plus didn't they try and take pictures a few years ago with the hubbel telescope and forgot or couldn't get the camera lens to focus lol.

Well, they f'd up the manufacturing of the original lens back in like '93 or whenever it was that it was launched. It turned into a huge debacle, but they figured out a way to essentially give it glasses (a corrective lens added on) and get it to work. Saved them a ton of embarrassment and saved NASA from having like a $50B piece of space junk floating around.
