We're going to have to kidnap Frank

Nebraska's Mighty Mite. I believe that's how Sports ILL described him, in their issue. No one ever played any harder or gave more to this program, on or off the field. Believe he still has the single game rushing record for a fullback here. Check out his JV record, you don't think his coaching of those freshmen teams didn't help Bob D, win a lot of games. Could he have been a better coach if given more time? Seems to have turned it around after his 7&7 season. He did manage to win 58 games. Had Bo on staff. You would have to think the defense would be in good hands. Say what you will about him, he is and always will be a Husker fav, and giving him a 15 min of recognition, is what the University should do.

GBR!!!

First of all, you never want to be the man that follows the man. Osborne is one of the few to ever follow a legend successfully, albeit those first few years many wanted him out.

Secondly, Solich put his heart and soul into Nebraska and stands for many of the same values the people of the state stand for and belive in!

Lastly, thinking he isn't deserving of a little praise due to a win loss record at the end of his time here is ignorant. Solich fully and whole heartedly represents Nebraska and deserves his time to be recognized the fact that he doesn't want the spolight just shows how his character fits.

I like the idea, and think having him for the return of Penn state game would be the most probable, since he coached the last team to play Penn State at home. Also his coaching record for Nebraska should speak for itself, the time, dedication and success he had here are pretty amazing. His coaching win percentage is comparable to TO and the Bob. Think of the great players he was directly coaching, I am sure you can name almost every great running back we had was under his tutelage. I say he deserves some recognition.

1998 - 9-4

1999 - 12-1

2000 - 10-2

2001 - 11-2

2002 - 7-7

2003 - 10-3 (9-3 under Solich)
And if people will recall, 1999 was another Texas screwjob when two complete passes in a row from Eric Crouch were called incomplete. Even Mushyberger said as much on the broadcast, and Solich blew his top after the second incomplete completion. And that screwjob was the difference between playing for the title and being edged out by a decidedly inferior Virginia Tech squad in the BCS.

Plus, Frank getting to the BCS title game in 1999 would had kept his detractors at bay, IMO. I would say DoNU had even odds to upend FSU. Plus, FSU was the only Florida school DoNU hadn't beaten for a title yet that decade--Frank could have hung his hat on a NC over FSU and cemented his own legacy, as Frank would have pulled off something that Dr. Tom couldn't.

What this boils down to is that people need to realize how manipulative, toxic, and damaging Texas was to our program. The 2009 Big XII title game screw job or 2010 thrice-over screw jobs weren't just aberrations--they were part of a series of screw jobs that took place over the entirety of our Big XII conference stay. In a roundabout way, we could even count Frank among the casualties of Texas' malfeasance and manipulation.

You're going to throw 2010 into this? That's going a bit too far...way too far, in fact. We lost that game. Deserved to lose it.

Frank Solich bled Scarlet and Cream for decades, both on the field as an undersized pit-bull fullback and on the sideline as a coach. He deserves the respect of fans, even the ones (like me) who thought he was not the right answer at head coach. I'd heartily stand and cheer for Frank, were he to be honored at a game this upcoming season.

SI published an article about Frank during his playing days. It's worth a read, if you have time.

BRING FRANK BACK! At the same time bring Pedy back, duct tape him to a goal post and let Solich pi$$ on him.

We need to have Frank come in and visit. But yea that 2010 game was the right call for the 00:01 put back on the clock. Even states in the rules.
