ESPN- Most Indispensable Players: Nebraska

No love for TMart.....??
Probably wanted to limit themselves to one offense, one defense. The argument could be made that Martinez is "more indispensable" than Rex because we haven't seen much of Carnes, but who knows - Carnes may be ready to light it up this year (not that ESPN knows this).

Agree.

It would be nice if ESPN "knew" a scintilla of what that believe they know........

Martinez and Steinkuhler.
i'd take Camstache over Stein
I might take EMart over either of them if he ever got to play.
I agree w/ Compton on this one. His play (either good or bad) will be crucial to that defense this year. Burkhead vs. Martinez is a tossup offensively. Pre-Green departure I would have said Martinez, but I can't see Abdullah being able to carry the entire load. We ran it 68% of the time w/ a healthy Martinez. I think we could run it 75% of the time with Carnes in there and be fine. But if Burkhead goes down now, I can't see us being able to pass the ball effectively 45-50% of the time to make up some of the carries we would have lost.

Compton, even at the end of last season, was taking bad angles and missing tackles. He was improved and he made a lot of plays, but he left a lot out on the field, too.

I'm not sure we have 1 player on defence who will be "the guy" you know? like Suh a few years ago, Lavonte last year etc, someone who will shutdown his area of the field, it seems as if talent wise everyone is about the same boat, i cant name a guy who will be a "playmaker" as of right now

This whole deal doesnt look at it as how good it is when theyre there, but rather how bad it would be if they wouldnt. Without Burkhead would be pretty bad.
