What "home improvement" thing did you do that you like the most?

I did a patio and fire pit, wood one, not gas burning. I wish I had a gas one!

I've put in a patio, several raised flowerbeds/gardens, and planted several trees outside. Inside I haven't done much home improvement type stuff. Replaced the kitchen sink once, but everything else has been your basic home decor stuff, which doesn't really count for this topic.

I'm not terribly handy when it comes to projects like this.

It's in my father's bar. The fridge itself is in a storage room behind the bar. The insulated tap line runs through the wall. It's a repurposed kegerator conversion kit that survived 3 years at my old college house.

When I install my own I'll probably go the tower route instead for purely aesthetic reasons. Of course . . . then I'll have to pay for the beer myself . . . which is a downside.

Least favorite - Hanging this damn storm door. Door frame isn't square in a 3 year old house, and the door has terrible instructions, and is a PITA to squeeze in. Still hanging there unfinished after two weeks because it just pisses me off looking at it and I don't want to start again.

Storm doors are ALWAYS awful. Always. I've done about a dozen over the years . . . generally as a result of my old construction foreman refusing to do them himself. Can't say that I blame him.

Built deck. Remodeled basement. Built playhouse for daughter. Fence around back yard. I'm looking forward to building a treehouse with my son.

Redwood deck, cedar fence, completely finished basement (I did all except electrical) then sold that house. The basement was very nice. Current home have done a flagstone patio and some landscaping projects. Getting the urge to do the basement thing again (complete with beer on tap of course). The flagstone patio is nice but it is a yearly deal to get it back in tiptop shape.

BTW have to agree on doors being a pain. They're not bad if you do the framing and trim work yourself but if you have to count on todays builders to leave you something remotely plumb and square, well good luck with that.

My storm door fits and I put it in alone! By "fit" I mean, if I slam it really hard, about 4 times and the swear at it, it fits.

Needless to say, I no longer exit from that door.
