College Football Hall of Fame - 2012 class... No Frazier

Tebow's offense was built to be a finesse, fast, quick-strike offense. Frazier's offense was designed to pound it down your throat. You're talking three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust, ON PURPOSE, compared to a high-paced aerial attack with some QB runs thrown in. Tebow's offense was the ramped-up version of the Fun 'n Gun. Frazier's was the Unstoppable Force.

Having said that, with the numbers fro cited earlier, Tebow gained an average of 7.29 yards per play. Frazier gained an average of 7.00 per play. For such vastly different offensive philosophies, that's not a great difference in YPP. It becomes an even smaller difference when you consider that Tebow had 476 more passing attempts than Frazier.

Isnt it possible that Shields was inducted due more to his accomplishments AFTER college. Yes, he won a major award here, BUT his pinnacle was obvoiusly the double digit years of consecutive pro bowls and starts, as well as his off the field demeanor. I feel Tommie is way more deserving than Shields based on college time alone.

As far as the two year rule, we'll see how that holds up when frickin Bama or USC have players nominated 2 years in a row (yes, I'm playing the bitter "everyone hates us" card)
I know that I'm late to the discussion and I hate to detract from the Frazier vs. Tebus debate, but Alabama is in the same boat this year after they had a player from the 70's inducted last year. They're not taking the 2 year rule being cited as the reason for this year's snub very well, either. The local sports radio shows are up in arms about it, and message board posters are frothing mad. This column from the Birmingham News should give you a good idea of how they feel about it:

Another point to what your saying is the percentage each player had of total yards. You can point to attempts but that shows that nebraska didn't need TF. He never had more than 39% of total O. In fact he was at 32%, 30%, 39% & 23%. TT had 15%, 70%, 55% & 59%. So all u have proven is who was more important and that frazier was just another piece to the husker machine.

And FYI, the diff. In the total amounts of yards over the 4 years is less than 60 yards a game.

Tebow  .

Dude, dint get me wrong, of course TF would have better numbers it he had gotten more chances. I am just saying he didn't need to. Nebraska didn't need him to be more because of all the talent around him.

You do realize that's a total wash to the argument of whether Tommie was better than Timmy, right?

Some people over the years have said option plays should be a stat to recognize the contribution of the QB in the play. If that were the case fraziers numbers would be insane!!!

frazier was just another piece to the husker machine.
err no way. With Berringer at the helm Nebraska had a good not great offense, only reaching 40+ three times. With Frazier they were perhaps the most dominate of all time. Monumental difference.
