A long while ago, yeah, we had one. It just got lost in the shuffle with the software upgrade and move to a new server. The thing about IRC chat that is nice is that you don't have to use it on your own server at all and 95% of people on it wouldn't be any the wiser. All you really need on your site is an applet that connects to your channel. I realize it wouldn't be active 24 hours a day, but during games, and especially recruiting, it provides a really nice medium.

 
Sooooooooo, anyone here want to talk recruiting? This is the recruiting forum isn't it, thinking I got lost at the main directory somehow.

 
I browse the Husker Football forums most frequently, as well as the BS Lounge and Politics forum at times. Mostly if there isn't a Report to deal with or a notification, I'll move on. Those notifications you get when someone quotes your post are amazing. I'd probably miss out responding to a lot of stuff if not for that.

Also PM back and forth with a number of you guys :P Moving this to the Lounge. Landlord, if you or anyone else want to come up with a solution for implementing IRC chat, I'd be all ears, I've just been too technically deficient to really pay attention to that discussion.

This is my first time hearing of this. I probably have that option turned off or something.

Also, I forgot you could report posts until you mentioned it. The report button is for feeble-minded people who get offended by words on the internet.

Yeah, I think I must've gone and turned on that setting when I first discovered it. It's great.

I love how wonderfully self-policing this community is, but the Report Function is also incredibly useful to us. Most of us do not read every single post on this board or even close, and so we rely on users using the Report feature to bring noteworthy items to our attention.

Not all of it is something worth taking action on (most of it isn't), but it's a snap to view the (actually pretty rare) cases when something is reported. So you see something out of line, please make use of that feature.

Entertainment mostly. I enjoy the banter with other posters.

The only serious bits I really like are in the Big Ten and other sports forums, I haven't found many other boards where you can discuss conference news with people who arent complete idiots or horrible homers.

I don't really enjoy posting on sites of teams I like, I do occasionally but prefer to get outside opinions on things and enjoy polite disagreements, HB is great for that. The moderating staff is more or less fair with a few exceptions and the members are knowledgable and hospitable.
