Access to UNL Stadium to Remain Largely Unchanged
Nebraska football fans shouldn't expect too many changes this season when it comes to finding their seats at Memorial Stadium.

The university says construction on the east stadium expansion project will continue through the season, but entrance polices will remain mostly unchanged.

Construction will keep some areas off-limits, but fans will be able to enter through a large opening created in the middle portion of the east stadium.

Signs will help guide fans to their seats. Workers have also built a set of steps at Gate 16, on the stadium's northeast corner.

Interested to see the pictures of this. I assumed that they would start building another entrance, or at least take construction down to make it easier for fan congestion.

probably something like a plywood/framed tunnel like you see when they do construction downtown and have to leave the sidewalks open.

Memorial Stadium access, policies largely unchanged from last year

The continuing East Stadium expansion project at Memorial Stadium will be the major change Nebraska football fans will notice when the Cornhuskers open the 2012 season Sept. 1 vs. Southern Mississippi.

Entrance to East Stadium seating will be the same as in 2011, however. A set of steps has been built on the northeast corner at Gate 16. Construction will continue during the season so some areas will be off limits to fans, but a large opening has been created in the middle portion of the East Stadium for fans to enter and then proceed to their gates. The pathway to gates 23 and 24 has been reduced, so fans who enter other gates are encouraged to avoid that area. Signage has been erected to help fans find the best way to their gate and seats.
