UCLA...

Did anyone see where UCLA's defense more or less shut down Rice in that second half? Something like 79 yards out of Rice the entire second half. Not too bad, even though Rice is a doormat.

I think we best keep the hubris turned down a bit; our kryptonite has been mobile QBs that can throw...

P.S. Who is the old announcer guy on that game? It sounds like the old pedophile on Family Guy.

"Ssssssaaay, that's some mighty fine runnin'. Love to watch that QB go..."
Ha ha! This time last year he was a head coach in the B1G.

/ I mean the announcer Ron Zook. Not the creepy old pedo guy.
There's a really easy Penn State joke in that statement I'll refrain from making.

Vandy almost pulled the upset against USC.....wouldn't been nice to see Spurrier whine like he always does.
I believe the refs screwed Vandy with that missed pass interference call.
I didn't catch that part. There were a few questionable calls in the game.

I don't see how they could possibly blow the call on a blatant pass interference like that. There's a video of the play in this article. LINK

HOUSTON — It's been decades since I covered high school football, UCLA and Rice bringing back so many memories.

The hope, of course, is that some of these players might really improve and go on to play in college one day.

They have the seats covered at both ends of the stadium for the first game of the season because no one is really expected to be here except maybe the parents of those playing.

It's not exactly Friday Night Lights, those guys so much better than any of these. Besides, it's Thursday.

That about sums up my thoughts on UCLA-Rice. But I'll refrain from a prediction until I've seen NU play.
