Somebody reminded Jokic that he should just go ahead and be unstoppable.

Somebody might want to remind Gobert that he is the Defensive MVP and he should try to play some on Jokic

Looked to me like Gobert was doing his thing, and Jokic was just doing his thing better.

I didn't get to watch the last couple of games due to kids activities, but I've seen a lot of comments and reactions of people clowning Gobert because he was guarding Gordon majority of the time and not Jokic and there was a clip of Van Gundy talking about a play where KAT got a foul called on him guarding Jokic and looked at Gobert and Van Gundy said something along the lines of 'that look KAT just gave Gobert said 'Look you're the defensive player of the year, why don't you guard him'"  So maybe I'm wrong, based on the what I've read, it sure sounds like Rudy is not the main defender for Jokic. :dunno

Has Shaq publicly apologized to Jokic for that god awful interview yet?

Doubt that he would.

Shaq was disrespectful and also kept talking about himself and his own career instead, knowing Jokic was going to be on the show as a guest.

I'm glad this show on TNT is going away and only Ernie has been promised a future job.

Next link continues with Jokic getting the award announcement and Shaq tells Jokic "I felt you didn't deserve it".....

Jokic replied "It's okay, We don't judge around here"

Shaq is insanely insecure, especially when his 'legacy' is threatened.  He started hating on Dwight Howard when people dubbed him 'Superman' because Shaq thought it was his and went out of his way to degrade him, so he could retain the 'Superman' name.  Now, he feels threatened that Jokic will be deemed the best big and he has to go out of his way to belittle him so he can remain the best big man ever in his mind. He's very petty, insecure and has a ish work ethic, but people love him because he likes to joke around. So much wasted potential with him both on the court and in the studio. For me he's the worst part of Inside.  Inside is head and shoulders the best NBA show, and he is by a large margin the worst part of Inside. He has mumble mouth, tries to be contrarian and has the most asinine points to back up his stupid "opinions". When Chuck does it, it seems natural and at least makes points that you can understand the logic, even when you know it's wrong, Shaq is just awful.  But my dislike for Shaq ends there, he does do a lot, without a lot of recognition, for the community and people in lower income areas. It's the one thing he learned from Magic and is really succeeding at it.

I agree with everything you said, 1000%

TNT's contract with the NBA ends after next season.  Inside might get retained on a different network than TNT, but so far rumors are that Ernie would get retained if that happens.  We shall see.  But no more TNT.

What a disappointing end to the season. I am really impressed by Minnesota, and I think they have a very good chance to win it all. But Denver just didn't show up this series, and in an embarrassing way. Jokic did what he does, but the inconsistency from Jamal was tough to overcome. Last night's game really highlighted the issues with this team. Joker and Jamal each went for 30+, but the rest of the team did absolutely nothing. MPJ flat out disappeared in this series, and Malone's abilities to make adjustments just didn't look good. I think this team needs to find a backup center who can actually play some minutes (make Jordan a coach, he's great at it and it's basically what he does now anyway) and Malone actually needs to dedicate some time to develop the young players, especially Watson. The fact that he was basically out of the rotation just made no sense to me.

I hear ya. Again, no dog in the hunt but I always enjoy watching Denver play and would have had no problem with them repeating. Not exactly an upset, as the Timberwolves looked good all year, but I was a bit surprised how gritty the Wolves were in the clutch, Minnesota having underperformed for several years now. Being both deep and healthy is a rarity in these playoffs.

The part i don't get: Aaron Gordon has always struck me as a unique talent, both big and crazy athletic, able to create mismatches with any opponent. He should be the third superstar on this team, but you go entire quarters or halves barely hearing his name called. The offensive strategy seems to revolve around the two man game of Jokic and Murray -- the analysts even said the Nuggets needed to get back to it -- but it seems to waste the best starting five in the NBA.

TWolves are a particular bad matchup for Gordon.  Minny possesses 2 7 footers in their starting lineup, and Naz Reid is a bulky 6’10. Gordon makes his impact offensively by punishing smaller players on cross matches or lurking in the dunker spot and getting Jokic lobs that originate off of the Murray/jokic pnr, or when his defender gets caught helping on Jokic. Minny is so big at all positions…they have length to recover both at the rim and chasing around high pick and rolls.  Just very little opportunity for Gordon to exploit. One game he did go off in he was just hitting jump shots…which normally a defense would be ok allowing him to take.

Just a tough matchup with a team that was built to beat the Nuggets. Throw in the fact that Denver basically had no bench and literally no back up 4 or 5 to spell either Jokic or Gordon. Got a worn out team by the end. MPJ shrank as per usual against a physical team.

All that said, if KAT would have gone his usual route and been a mental midget in a big game, Nugs probably win. But he played a hell of a game.  And predictably he turned back into a pumpkin for last nights game against Dallas.

Oh well. Was a fun 14 months being a Nugs fan. Hoping for a big move where they trade MPJ for some depth. But looks like they’re going to just run it back and hope their young guys make a leap. Which is disappointing.
