****USC Game Day Thread****

I actually thought that the team played pretty well for the most part. Poor coaching decision to try 52 yd field goal on that 4th and 1. Have some balls and go for it.

And, I can’t think of many past NE QB’s that wouldn’t have taped their ankle, sucked it up and gotten back in the game

It is amazing how we have managed to piss every opportunity we have had on national TV to gain a shred of respect. Even a blind squirrel runs into a nut every now and then. If you told me in the 1990s that the Huskers will go 0-29 against ranked opponents in 10 years, I would have asked you to seek medical help as soon as possible. On the bright side, we have Rhule locked in till 2032.

Lateef had as good of a second half as DR. You can't blame the kid. He didn't fumble the ball on a sack like DR. They got points with him in there. EJ falling on 4th down sucked, but I doubt NE scores anyway.

USC kept us in the game by throwing the ball. Their run game was spot on. No real reason to throw the ball in the first 3 quarters when they were averaging 9 yards a rushing play. Stats were about even. Neither team is CFP material both could be bottom 20ish ranked at year end.

The lines need depth and we need more outside runs and TE in the middle passes. Too much WR screen in traffic and throwing behind the lines. There are quick pass plays that recievers can run 4-5 yards down field.

Time to recruit more linemen. It's amazing what good line play does for playcalling and making OC and DC look good.
