0-0 ballgame to start 2nd half

Credit the team for not throwing the towel in early after being down 21-3. They did tie it up at 24 before half, but I question our offensive gameplan coming out for the second half. It's a 0-0 ballgame. Did we really have to ditch the run that much in the second half? I think the "balance" of the WCO could have played a vital role in the second half especially if we were consistently moving the chains and wearing down the Mizzou D-line. But our O-line is a mess. It makes you wonder how Iowa State can run all over Mizzou's D yet we couldn't get anything going. Another reason to worry about our D-line, we have 5 guys to block 3 linemen and we can't get it done...oh yeah and that happened more than once. I'm glad we won't see another quarterback like Smith this year, so we can go back to blitzing the hell out of teams.

That is what I think as well. He shredded us when he would see a blitz package to one side or the other, he would audible to the opposite and burn us. I would have liked to see our defense disguise thier blitz packages better so the other offense cant go to the line and know where the blitz is coming from.

I think they may have exposed something with the no huddle offense. Our defense is much better this year because of our ability to rotate players in and out. If our opponents run a no huddle it limits our ability to do so. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Just a thought.

I don't think OU has a field general good enough to run much of a no huddle offense against the Huskers. No huddle is great is you have a mature experienced field general to run it, but there is no way in hell I'd try that with a freshman QB. KSU won't do it either for the same reason. Ku, who really cares what they try. They're just awful. But, Colorado should have learned something very valuable from the games against TT and Mizzou. I would expect CU to be running no huddle all day in Boulder. When you have 4 starters on the DL but typically play 9, it will be a long day for the DL when the opposing O runs no huddle all day long!
