Some interesting info from a hail varsity look back:

What were you doing 10 years ago today?

If you were a Nebraska fan with internet tendencies, you were probably reading breaking reports that Bill Callahan would be the next head coach in Lincoln.

Jan. 8, 2004. That’s the day the reports broke. Callahan was officially announced the next day.

There’s less than a complete picture of those days surrounding the hiring freely available online, but here’s a couple of snippets to commemorate(?) the 10-year mark.

Isn't there some sort of Board

that prohibit HB members from mentioning that name here in Nebraska?

For some reason, I thought 10 years ago was January of 1994 (I guess I'm still live in the 00s) and this was going to have to do with the establishment of "Unfinished Business". My bad...

I find myself doing this all the time. Now, granted, I was born in the late 80's and perhaps this happens to a lot of people born near the end of a decade. But, every time someone says 10 years ago I immediately think 90's, or anytime they say the last decade I think the same. It also shocks me to think think 20 years ago was 1994, when it really just doesn't feel that way.
