No kidding!It remains amazing to me how they are so mathematically challenged. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. create even brackets. All the other combinations force some type of bye or multiple elimination.

But, college sports for some reason, is stuck on wanting to have weird brackets in tournaments.
I understand the reasoning. But, take the money out of it, and it makes a lot less sense.![]()
Weird brackets mean more "important" games, and that's the overall goal because people will watch. It bothers me because I genuinely don't believe more than 4-6 teams each year deserve a shot at the championship (8 is about my limit), but it is what it is.
