While Im not going to agree or disagree, I think that NU has had its fair share of 60+ yard runs in the past 22-23 years with an option attack. And, they have piled up many of 50+ point beatings in that time too.IMO the option lacked the quick strike that many of today's offenses have.
Actually, the WCO is an offense that is a ball control offense, its not a vertical passing game, so to speak. It is important to get fast, game breaking WRs to stretch the field to open up the under-routes, or to take a 5 yd slant, break a tackle, and go 80.The WCO gives us the option to get down field in a hurry with one or two big pass plays.
It really doesnt matter, because a couple of people (on this board[stuckinChicago??]) have told me recently that billy c. doesnt run the WCO :blink: :blink: Thats news to me.
