1996 Arizona St.

I keep relating this game to the '96 game we had.

We believed after coming in after 2 NC that no one could touch us.

We went down there and got whooped.

I think this mentality ihas been picked up by USC. Can you blame them???

I really do not think it is comparative. They lost two games last year. Yea they are rated #1 but have not proven it.

They will be ready to play I think.

I dont know... some of the quotes I have read from their players, they do not sound like they are preparing for a battle. they sound like they expect a blow out. should be interesting to see how they handle a tough game.....thats what they are getting

Actually, USC had that mentality more last year before going to Arkansas for their first road game.

This year, the Trojans realize that they were lucky to escape with a win against the Cornhuskers last year and are quite concerned about playing in the blackshirts stadium.

But I suspect that they'll show up and try their best to fight on.

I see it as a somehwat simialr situation.

In 1996, Frost did NOT have the angles of the option down. I think USC will be a little more prepared.

However, we did walk into a frenzied stadium and much improved ASU team from '95.

Actually, this game reminds me of the '94 Orange bowl (after the 1993 season).

No one was giving us a chance in hell vs. FSU. Double digit dogs - anywhere from +14 to +17, and we played well enough to win.

Considering Booty isn't playing in just his second game as a starter at USC, I think there's absolutely no comparison at all. I doubt their center is in just his second game as the center either. I highly doubt he snaps the ball by Booty's head into the endzone for a safety. Considering that most of the offense was very new in their positions while USC has a somewhat veteran QB, I see absolutely zero similarity at all. I see more similarty between Keller and Frost than I do between Booty and Frost as both Keller and Frost sat out years before entering the season. I think anyone trying to compare NU in 96' to USC in 07' is really grasping at straws!

actually it is the center's second game. he's a true freshman, Kristopher O'dowd, (he's a 5 star).....naturally :hmmph

Actually I think they are starting their true freshman center for the second time. He played ok according to Carroll against Idaho.
