It was neither of those things.
I really don't give a carp. Yes the lack of 3rd downs is disgusting but when we did get them there we were dominate.
It's the first f'ing game. We can all go pout and b!^@h about how we've given up 600 yards the last three games, or we can realize it's the first game with a young vanilla defense against a pretty solid QB and things are going to go wrong. We have another tune up game left before we should really start pooping our pants. If anything this is probably the best result we could have asked for. There's a lot of film to learn from now. We'll see if they're really students of the game or not, because the talent is there it's just down to the execution again.
imo.
Z, I understand where you're coming from, but the fact that worry's me is that we gave up over 200 yards to
one of the worst rush offenses in the nation...
And what worries me more, is that there didn't seem to be any adjustments made to way the defense was run what so ever. If our D sucks in the first quarter, but changes are made and there's a noticeable improvement by the second quarter, then thats all you can ask for...
They kept doing the same thing that wasn't working, and they kept pounding a square peg into a round hole for almost 4 quarters, with the two series in the 3rd quarter where we thought they had made the adjustments...
