Time to stand up and be accounted for....fortunately, no one seemed to be completely out-of-wack on their preseason 2005 UN predictions. I was amazed how accurate you guys were!!!

Sorry, if I left anyone out (I was curious to see how Benard and FF predicted how the season would go, but I didn't have the time or luck. Maybe someone else could find their predictions? Couldn't find a posting from Nameless or ETR, either)

DJR313 predicted on Aug 24, 2005 that Nebraska would go to the Alamo or Holiday Bowl and finish 8-4!!!!!! :worship

Trev Alberts picked us to go 7-4

I seem to recall that Benard predicted another losing season, but I can't find the post!

AWESOME PICKINGS....JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW KNOWLEDGEABLE THE HUSKERBOARD MEMBERS ARE. :horns2

Even though many of us are considered SS pumpers for the most part we are also realists. I would have loved to see a 10-1 season but reality dictated that we are still rebuilding to fit BC's program. Not far off from that in the near future.

GBR

Heck, I would have loved to see a 11-0 season!!

I thought that this year was actually difficult to predict. So many unanswered questions at the beginning of the year. Seems like alot of folk were cautiously optomistic, like yourself, at the start of the season. I think that most would agree that the season panned-out as well as expected...maybe even better :)

Awesome, hopefully next year I pick the right record again at 10-3 with a trip to the Cotton Bowl!

LeKevin killed my 8-3 prediction.... but thats ok, im a forgiving man and I hope he finds great success at the next level and picks a ball off to win the superbowl... and falls down! GBR!

I believe I said that NU would be similar to the 04 squad (true) but would probably end up 6-5 or 7-4, with a trip to a lower bowl. I also think I said that NU had one certain win (Maine) and 3 certain losses (OU, Tech, CU<--- :dumdum -not so correct). I also said that the other games were tossups (true).

I believe that I stated prior to the season that all the games would be tough to predict.

That sounds familiar! Another fairly accurate prediction from HB :thumbs

ahhhhh way wrong on one count.......this team was no way comparable to the 2004 team.......it was light years ahead in making head way with the WCO and beating some quaility teams........5-6 vs. 8-4.....comparable??? still drinking after New Years Eve??? :WTH

For Benard's "predictions", see my first post in THIS THREAD...

And - *cough, cough* - I predicted a 7-4 regular season - see THIS THREAD...

In my 6-0 thread a while back I know i said that if NU started out 6-0, we would end up being 9-2 with a trip to the Holiday or Alamo bowl (losses to Colorado and Oklahoma). After going 5-1, i predicted a 8-3 season still with the second and third losses coming to Colorado and Oklahoma. Didn't expect us to lose Kansas, but then again, no one saw SMU beating the drap out of TCU or Tennessee not going to a bowl game (which puts a smile on my face). Now 1 more wish to go (FSU gets blown out by Penn St to finish 8-5 :smokin )

If you check the stats from 04 to 05, they are almost identical comparing YPG and PPG. I think (I could be wrong) that NU actually had more yards and PPG in 04, slightly.

I wouldnt say that my statement was too far off the mark ;)

We also gave up a touchdown less per game, improved DRAMATICALLY on defense and special teams, and most importantly won three more games, against what is turning out to be decent competition. The offense regressed in the running game, but made large strides in the passing game and more importantly in turnovers. This team would have wiped the floor with the 04 team, so yes, I would say your statement is well off the mark.

I'm betting none of us predicted 2 of our losses to be against MU and KU, lmao

My loss predictions before the season were:

Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Colorado, and possibly: Iowa State (8-3 or 7-4)

well... we all know how that turned out, lmao

oh yeah and btw.. early in the season i changed my tune and stated that we would not lose a game in the Big 12 North... errr wrong again. I was worried about CU, but decided we could take them... BS was hurt, I figured MU was an easy win.. and KU.. are you kidding me? My logic was sound... (we did be CU), however we dun gone and decided to lose to the conference bottom feeders... gah! Not next year baby!
