Don't make too much of this, but the Web site nationalchamps.net already is out with its preseason Top 25 for 2009 -- and it doesn't include Nebraska. Nor can the Huskers be found on a list of 10 others to consider, which does have Notre Dame, Nevada and North Carolina State.
The snub seems a little interesting after NU won its last three regular-season games to take an 8-4 record into the Gator Bowl. But the Huskers will be breaking in a new quarterback and replacing a handful of seniors on its offensive and defensive lines.

Nationalchamps.net has Florida at No. 1. The highest among Big 12 teams are Texas at No. 3, Oklahoma at No. 4 and Oklahoma State at No. 6. It lists Kansas as the favorite to win the Big 12 North.

The site also doesn't list any Huskers among its top 15 players at each position for 2009. No Ndamukong Suh?

Wow. They have apparently done some in depth research into each and every team and their rosters and schedules for next year. How high is this radar we keep flying under?? Anyway, can't wait to prove jokers like this wrong next year...starting Jan 1st.

what a useless post..what is nationalchamps.net? who gives a sh#t...i might as well start my own website and name Nebraska preseason #1

 
They talked about this last night on sports nightly. Keep in mind that they are assuming all underclassmen return to their respective college teams rather than hop to the NFL.

 
Right now don't really care about next years rankings. Once things start settling and players decide what they will end up doing I will look at rankings

As a Pats fan, speaking from experience, being the underdog is SO MUCH MORE FUN than being hated by everyone else while you're on top.

 
Nebraska should be able to pick up a couple of decent DB's and WR's in the Iowa State dispersal draft....that should shore up some of the depth that people may see the Huskers lacking next year....

 
I dont kno about you guys...but im not going to lose ANY sleep over what nationalchamps.net has to say about us...who cares about that stuff...we need to take care of business ON the field..then we can start to worry about rankings....besides....who doesn't love being the underdog....

I couldnt agree more! Im gonna stay home tonight & curl up on the couch & cry. I mean, have you seen the championship trophy nationalchamps.net or whatever they are gives out! :sarcasm
