2010 Lombardi Award semifinalists announced

Again...... why doesnt he? His numbers certainly warrant it
Because he isn't playing very good,he is a very overrated player. He has alot to improve on so he most likely isn't going to go into the draft this year,he needs to come back to increase his stock.
Crick was never going into the draft this year. That was nonsense. And his numbers do not support your contention that he "isn't playing very good."

Nebraska's defensive philosophy, especially as it pertains to our D Line, isn't easy to grasp. We're used to Suh blowing everyone up and laying waste to the backfield, but that's only because he was superhuman. Crick and the D Line are doing what they're asked to do - be gap-sound, occupy O Linemen, and keep the QB from running out of the pocket. For about 6 1/2 games they did just that - the lone exception being Gilbert's scrambling in the first half of the Texas game.

Our D Line doesn't play sexy football like we used to in the 90s, but it's all part of Bo's system and it's effective.
I just think that he isn't all that he is made out to be,Zoogies thinks that he is overrated as well.I would have myself some acho over crick all day.

crick is not explosive or disruptive, he is not a force, he is not someone who draws a double team...maybe next year.

yup,I dont think baker is either, seems like baker has an evan harder time getting off blocks.

I have been hoping all year that JC would step out from Damo's shadow. Still waiting.

I agree. Carl is doing a good job coaching the D line.

people are being way to hard on crick here. no he's not suh...... no one is. the guy is on pace to get 12 sacks this year as a rookie DT. thats INSANE. now im not saying he is playing to his potential..... i'm sure he would admit he needs to step it up, but he absolutely deserves to be on that list. again look at his stats.... he hasnt played that bad.

I think that we have a mediocre D line this year. This is my opinion I think that Merideth is good,I think crick is ok and I think that baker is not pulling his weight also I expect alot more from piere allen this year.I noticed that alot of the time that baker does a poor job getting off of blocks and sometime we get gashed bad in his gap that he is covering.

here some more references #'s

jason peters senior year?

59 tackles and 7 sacks

almost identical #'s to what crick is on pace to average this year.

christian peter 46 tackles and 2 sacks

plain and simple.... we havent liked how it has looked, but it hasnt been as bad as think

now on pace for 59 tackles and 8 sacks.....numbers dont lie.

he had a great game against mizzou.

he was knifing through the line, shedding blockers at point of attack, chasing Gabbert numerous times and generally was disruptive and caused a bunch of problems for the tiggers.

he's a good one.

I hope he doesn't leave this year for the draft. He still needs 1 more year of Pelini tutoring to become dominant.

Yep, that's what I remember Bo doing his first time here-- really changing up the D. I think Bo is LB-centric and sees the D-line as an instrument for keeping the LBs free. They hold the O line so the LBs can get tackles. Sometimes there's an opening for the D Line to do something spectacular (like get a sac), but mostly, they support the LBs. Suh had the advantage of being fast and insanely strong. If he could get a hand on a QB, there was a good chance that he was going to get dropped.
