2012 Summer Olympics - London Games

Medals really rolling in for the US now. Double medals in several events - Women's Beach VBall, Women's Long Jump, Women's 200M, 110 Hurdles - makes things go in a hurry.

US surges to an 81-77 lead over China in total medals but China still holds a 36-34 edge in golds.

 
We will pass China for gold medals when all is said and done. The women are really making up the difference.

 
Korea up 5-4 early in the first set. Winner goes to the gold medal game, loser competes for bronze.

We handled these guys in four games last time.

After trailing Korea 16-17, Team USA has surged ahead and leads 23-19 in the first game. Let's close this out!

Edit: 25-20, USA over Korea.

USA leads the match, 1-0.

Team USA sweeps a very game Korea, 20, 22 and 22. Korea had leads late in each set, but the U.S. was just too strong down the stretch.

We are now assured of Silver, and can take Gold with another strong showing. Team USA hasn't gone to five in any match this Olympics, and the only four-game matches were clearly our own let-up.

 
GOOOOAAALLLL!!!!

That didn't take long! Let's bury this match and leave no doubt about it.

Still 1-0, US at halftime.

Sounds like we're getting outplayed big-time, but we're up. Lucky to be up, but up.

 
Pretty good 1st half for the U.S. About midway thru, it seemed Japan came around. What the U.S. needs to quit doing is trying to work the fast breaks and taking the long shots. Work the ball a little more when you get near the penalty box.
