2012 Summer Olympics - London Games

Been a really good first 5 days. Lots of fun rootin' for athletes you only get to see, or even hear about every 4 years.

4 chances to win gold in swimming today. We usually win gold when it comes to swimming. Wouldn't be surprised if we tie China today

Dem gynastics gals er gud.
One question, though... the Russian gal that got bronze tied on score with the second American in the all-around... so I'm not quite sure how the tie-breaker works. I looked over on the website for the Federation that runs the sport... and was even more confused by their tie-breaking explanation. So does anyone know what the rule is? May just have to watch it on NBC tonight to find out how that worked.

Well, it appears in boxing if your government gives the international ruling group $9 million you get two gold medals

The BBC claimed that whistleblowers said the head of World Series Boxing, the ambitious attempt by the International Amateur Boxing Association (Aiba) to launch a global amateur series to rival the professional code, had accepted $9m (£5.85m) from Azerbaijan in return for a promise it would win two golds in the London games.
