I don't want to even think about Rutgers and Maryland joining the B1G.... The conference has been watered down dramatically with those additions...

I remember when Texas Tech and Baylor and a mediocre Texas watered down the Big 8.

I don't remember thinking that, but I was also relatively young.... Even so, you can't possibly be excited about these two additions outside of the traveling/tourists attractions.

I really wasnt trying to be smart a$$ either. too me any way it just seemed at the time, Texas A&M was the only one of the 4 that accomplishing anything. John Mackovic was Texas's Callahan, even though they did win the '96 CCG. Texas was rather mediocre at the time and Baylor and Texas Tech were, well, Baylor and Texas Tech. We had our way with Tech in 93 and 94 and now theyre joining a Big 8 that was in a perenial run of producing 4-5 top 25 teams, 3 of which were top 15 to top 10.
