2014 Starting Quarterback

Any chance Johnny takes over the starting quarterback role from Tommy next year, or is Tommy a lock for the next few years? I know Johnny was coming off injury, but haven't hard much about him since he has been on campus.

 
Certainly a chance. That job will be open in the spring.

That's not a shot at Tommy, just reality of our situation. Wish them both the best.

 
Johnny's going to be just a redshirt freshman with no game experience next year.

Two fine young men, going to be a hell of a battle. Look forward to it.

 
I've heard comments now from a couple of insiders that Johnny Stanton is a flat out stud and will very likely be the starting QB next year.

Well we gave Martinez 3 1/3 years of turning the ball over so I guess it makes sense that you want Armstrong gone already.

I don't care who plays, I just want ball security. But we'll have a sophomore and a redshirt freshman next year for our choices. I'm guessing we'll have issues with either one.

Well we gave Martinez 3 1/3 years of turning the ball over so I guess it makes sense that you want Armstrong gone already.

This Armstrong kid has had enough time! He's not the guy. I mean, six games into your freshman year at this level and you still make mistakes. STANTON STANTON STANTON!

You knew it was going to happen. But hey at least it proves that it's not unique to Martinez so people can shut up about it already. Christ, what's the most criticized position in all of sports? I'm not certain but I'm guessing it's QB.

 
I'll be ok with Tommy starting next year IF he shows vast improvement on his pass accuracy. Otherwise, it could be an interesting spring camp.

 
I've seen enough of Tommie Armstrong in just 6 games to say with confidence that I hope Johnny Stanton is our starter next year.
