2015 NFL Playoffs

That's an all-time choke by the Packers.

Up by 12 with five minutes and have the ball. Against a team that turned it over five times.

But really, you don't win championships by kicking field goals from the one yard line. Twice.

Incredible stat, Tom Brady has 20 playoff wins. That is more than 21 current NFL franchises.

The way they do over time in the NFL is just plain stupid. This is one instance where they really need to take a lesson from college.

But he said something [that] was unique: 'I like to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it.' Because he thinks it’s easier for him to grip. He likes them tight.
Phill Simms, quoting Aaron Rodgers -- apparently a fan of tight balls.

Or why couldn't they just run a normal 15 minute period and then once that's up it's sudden death?

It appears the Colts were onto something when they believed some of the balls used during Sunday's AFC Championship game were not fully inflated.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported late Tuesday night that 11 of the football the Patriots used were two pounds underweight in their 45-7 rout of the Colts at Gillette Stadium. Pro Football Talk dug into the rulebook and said all NFL footballs must have 12.5-13.5 pounds of air.

The officials inspect 12 footballs from each squad a few hours before the game, PFT says, and they likely would have noticed if they were two pounds below the standard. Logic would lead you to believe New England doctored the footballs after the referees inspected them.

Indianapolis likely never would have realized it was even an issue had linebacker D’Qwell Jackson not picked off quarterback Tom Brady in the second quarter. Bob Glauber of Newsday says that's what led to the league's investigation.

Coach Bill Belichick did not flatly deny the allegations but said Monday he had not heard anything about it until that morning. The players also acted as if it was the craziest thing they had ever heard. Quarterback Tom Brady said the allegations were "ridiculous."

How do the referees handling the football after every play not notice 11 of 12 Patriot footballs are 2 psi underweight but 1 DB who rarely touches a football in a game spotted it in an instant?

Reiss: all thoughts in one place on deflated balls

I feel compelled to say, as a fan of the Pats, I'd rather not see the team be any part of crap like this.

That Aaron Rodgers talks about attempting to sneak overinflated balls through or that Brad Johnson admits to paying to doctor 100 balls in a Super Bowl doesn't really matter. It's not hard to stay far away from it. Why bother?

If Belichick was behind this I hope they take away draft picks and suspend him. One of the best coaches in the business with one of the best teams, why? I go back to what Patriots owner Robert Kraft said to Belichick after Spygate.

"Did it even help? (No.) Then you're a real schmuck."

I mean, the story is unfinished, but how can anyone give the Patriots the benefit of the doubt? What a shame.
