I'm not sure that it is a terrible opinion - The whole goal is to get guys on campus. We seem to swing some guys that aren't that interested once they get here (lamar Jackson). The point being made is if we are competing with the top 5 teams in the country for the same weekend then we will not get those guys on campus. If we do it a weekend that is not as crowded then we will get our fair share of guys on campus. Now the downside is that we are going after a weekend that isn't as ideal - until we start beating those teams on the field we may need to try to slide around them when it comes to picking dates.....its a numbers game and right now this is our best chance. This is a terrible opinion. Should they just lay down instead while everyone else is enjoying success? Even if they only got 1 or 2 guys from bigger schools it puts them in a better standing.Ok but chances are you won't get guys like Parsons to come to your FNL event.Does Nebraska really want to compete against schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson...etc.?Does Nebraska really want to compete against schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson...etc. by moving their FNL to July?
