Why do you guys think it is that we seem to get a lot of foot traffic on campus from skills players, but have very little from linemen? I've noticed a ton of Rivals 250 traction with WR's & DB's but much less from OLmen and DLmen. It concerns me that we seem to have such an emphasis on skills players but seem to not be equally as influential with the big guys.
It concerns me because it doesn't matter how many top receivers we have if we don't have an Oline that can give a passing QB great protection and time to go through his progressions. If Lee or O'Brien can't get in rhythm because they feel pressure, it will shut down our offense and the WR's and RB check downs will be useless.
On defense it concerns me because we need to get pressure on the QB and we need to run stuff we'll enough to free the DB's in space. Pelini always said great defenses started with the line. Banker said he built from the outside in. I just see a consistent number of DB's and WR's with us in play but it seems we can't generate that kind of traction with the linemen.
Do you guys feel like that's concerning as well?
