Basically from what I understand it is a guarantee that they'll make the team and they don't have to go through tryouts.

Would say it's normally guys they like but just aren't quite sure on because A. They either don't have all the measurables in this case I would think it's probably his speed or B the type of competition they played against. They know you did well and have a shot to perform but they don't want to burn a scolly right away for so many uncertainties

Thanks! Just wasn't quite sure how that'd be enticing to a recruit since it doesn't ensure a whole lot more than just a walk-on. Either way, celebrate that this kid is on board!

This group has the potential to have some pretty good players. Definitely excited about Warner and Paup as the big names thus far. Lingenfelter turned down some decent offers to walk on and Miller had some great things said about him. Sounds like he'll be a battler in the trenches which can only help our top tier guys in practice. Slap in a solid walk-on QB for depth and this is about as good of class as you can ask for.

Love Warners size (something we missed out on a little prior to landing him) and his hands are solid. In the offense we will be running this guy could turn into a key cog in the short passing game

Nahhhh, dude is a stud. After watching his film, very surprised he wasn't heavily recruited...

6'2. 200lbs. Good hands. Runs a 4.50. Reminds me a lot of another recruit without any offers who walked on, Brandon Reilly.

Then I would go back to he plays against lower competition because if he runs a 4.5 and is 6'2 200 he would have offers. That's what Mcquitty runs. So he either runs closer to 4.7 like someone else has stated or everyone thinKS his game doesn't translate to college because he is playing against kids that wouldn't make a div 3 team

I heard he is 5 10 and runs a 5.51 40 so I guess you can now say that he is getting slower by the second.

in all seriousness this kid will probably turn out similar to Brandon Reilly - having a father that knows the deal and respects our staff will almost guarantee that this kid acts like a homegrown husker and will have a 50/50 chance of seeing a scholarship his junior year.

 
This kid has "underdog" in his DNA. Couple that with our recent success recruiting WRs, and I think Kade is going to surprise a few people.

I don't want to name any names, but I think he's going to put his head down, outwork one of our highly touted scholarship WRs, and make a name for himself here.

Riley will find him a nice little niche in the new offense and he's going to a be a very valuable pick-up for us. Really excited for him to be a Husker!
