2018 Blackshirts vs. 2017 Blackshirts

And they've had them for a number of years.

Weird. I'm not that observant, but I can't believe I missed that for that long. Are you sure it's been more than this year? I looked up photos from the last few years and can't find any with them, I went game by game.

Here's a good shot of the sticker from Hail Varsity's Eric Francis:

The stickers I was commenting about were just a black sticker with white BLACK SHIRTS on it.  The skull n crossbones Blackshirt logo sticker looks to be newer.

The last year the defense had Blackshirt stickers before Frost brought them back was 2002. They didn't have them from 2003-2017.
I remembered the teams in the 90s having them, so that’s why I just figured it continued until recently. Thanks for the clarification.

Coaching a defense that goes up against a Dave Warner offense is more or less the same thing as having the other team's playsheet.

Our defense played great, but at the same time my goodness was MSU's offensive scheme just absolutely uninspiring and as predictable as you could possibly imagine.

Don't forget "completely inept" in your description of MSU's offense.

I don't get the obsession with points per play. Three and out, 3 and out, 3 and out, 80 yard TD grades the same as a single, 10 play TD drive. I greatly prefer the former. Points per possession is what matters, not points per play.
